List of counties of Scotland 1890–1975 facts for kids
This article is about the old areas of Scotland called counties. These counties were like big regions used for local government, helping to manage things like roads and schools. They were officially created in 1889 by a law called the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889. Later, in 1975, another law, the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, changed how Scotland was divided up, and these old counties were replaced.
