The state funeral for Elizabeth II, who was Queen of the United Kingdom and 14 other Commonwealth realms, was a huge event. Many important people from all over the world came to say goodbye. It was one of the biggest gatherings of world leaders ever! They all attended a special service at Westminster Abbey on 19 September 2022. Besides leaders, some of the Queen's family, friends, government ministers, religious leaders, and people who worked for her or helped their communities were also there.
To make sure everyone who wanted to attend could, the UK government asked each country to send only two official representatives. About 500 heads of state and other important foreign guests were at the funeral. In total, 2,000 people attended the ceremony. Representatives from 168 countries confirmed they would be there. This included 18 kings and queens, 55 presidents, and 25 prime ministers.
