Taekwondo athlete María Espinoza has won a gold, silver, and bronze medal for Mexico at the Olympics.

Joaquín Capilla 1952
Diver Joaquín Capilla won four Olympic medals for Mexico. He has won more medals than any other Mexican Olympian.

Joaquín Capilla is the Mexican athlete with the most Olympic medals, with four in total. He was also the first Mexican to win medals in three Olympic Games in a row. Humberto Mariles is the only Mexican athlete to win two gold medals. He also won three medals in one Olympic Games (1948), which is the most for a Mexican in a single event. He also won Mexico's very first gold medal!

In 2016, María Espinoza became the first Mexican female athlete to win a medal in three Olympic Games in a row.
