Welcome to a special list of amazing places in Washington state! These places are super important because they are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This list helps protect buildings, structures, objects, sites, and even whole neighborhoods that have a lot of history.
The National Register of Historic Places is a big program across the United States. It helps recognize places that are important to our nation's story, or even just to Washington state or a local town. There are over 90,000 historic sites listed across the country, and more than 1,500 of them are right here in Washington! Every single one of Washington's 39 counties has at least three places on this special list.
