List of most-visited art museums Facts for Kids

In 2023, many people visited art museums again, almost as many as before the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the first time visitor numbers were so high since the pandemic started.

Most of the information for these numbers comes from The Art Newspaper, a special publication that shares its yearly survey in March. Other important sources include the Smithsonian Institution in the United States, the French Ministry of Culture, and a group called the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions in the United Kingdom.

Usually, museums in mainland China share their visitor numbers later in the year, around May. So, for some Chinese museums, the numbers you see might be from the year before. They will be updated when the new information is released.
