The Playlist is a fun British TV show for kids aged 12-15. It's all about music and entertainment! The show features different guest presenters each week and is made by Strawberry Blond TV for CBBC. It first aired on April 22, 2017. Famous DJs like Greg James, Dev Griffin, MistaJam, and Jordan North often present the UK Singles Chart Top 10 part of the show. Many other co-presenters have joined since the 16th episode. The Playlist took over from the CBBC Official Chart Show, which finished in early 2017.

How the Show Works
Every week, you can visit the CBBC website to find ten different songs. You get to vote for your favorites! You can use all your votes on one song, or spread them across two or three different songs. In more recent episodes, you only get one vote, which makes choosing even harder!
The three songs with the most votes get played on The Playlist show. You can also share your thoughts about the songs and why you voted for them. You can do this by uploading a short video, a selfie, or by simply typing a comment on the CBBC website. While a song is playing, your comments and cool facts about the artists might appear on screen!
Also, a BBC Radio 1 DJ like Greg James, Dev Griffin, or Jordan North presents the UK Singles Chart Top 10. They play short clips from each of the top songs. Between these main music sections, the show also includes fun games and chats with the hosts.
Since the second series, the celebrity host gets to pick their three favorite songs to share with everyone.
Making the Show
The Playlist was created after the CBBC Official Chart Show finished in February 2017. That show had been on for almost two years and had 69 episodes. The person who produced the CBBC Official Chart Show then started his own TV company called Strawberry Blond TV. CBBC wanted to bring live music shows back to its channel, and that's how The Playlist came to be!
Broadcast magazine also reported that The Playlist would be part of CBBC's new live Saturday morning TV show, Saturday Mash-Up!, which started in September 2017.
