  • War Eagle Mill in Rogers was built in 1832. It's still grinding grain today using an "undershot" water wheel, which means the water flows under the wheel to turn it.

  • Dexter Grist Mill in Dexter was built in 1854.

  • Scribner's Mills in Harrison, Maine is rebuilding an old "up-and-down" sawmill.

  • Wye Mill, built around 1682, is the oldest continuously working grist mill in the United States! It even supplied flour to George Washington's army during the Revolutionary War. It was one of the first mills to use new automated equipment designed by Oliver Evans, which is still used today.
