The Triplets facts for kids

The Triplets are three fun characters named Anna, Teresa, and Helena. They were created by a Spanish artist named Roser Capdevila. In Spanish, their name is Les tres bessones (Catalan) or Las tres mellizas (Spanish).
Roser Capdevila first created The Triplets in 1983. She based them on her own three daughters, who were actually triplets born in 1969! Their stories quickly became popular and were published in many countries. In 1985, a new character joined them: the "Bored Witch" (La Bruixa Avorrida). She helped create a series of stories called "The Triplets and (...)" where the girls would visit classic tales.
In 1994, a TV company called Cromosoma and the Catalan TV channel Televisió de Catalunya turned the books into an animated TV show. The show became super successful! This led to a second series focusing on the Bored Witch, made with other TV companies like France 3, Canal J, and Storimages. By 2004, there were 104 episodes of The Triplets and 52 episodes of The Bored Witch. These shows have been translated into 35 different languages and shown in 158 countries!

What Are The Triplets' Stories About?
The stories of the triplet sisters usually follow a fun pattern. Sometimes, they play a prank or annoy the Bored Witch. To teach them a lesson, the Bored Witch uses her magic to send them into a famous story. This could be a classic fairy tale, a legend, or even a well-known book like Frankenstein or The Phantom of the Opera.
The main part of the classic story stays the same. But the Triplets always add their own funny twists! For example, you might see the forty thieves getting distracted by a camel race on TV. Or Dr. Frankenstein might be a veterinarian instead of a mad scientist! These funny changes help make each story unique and show off the girls' different personalities. Even though the Bored Witch sends them away, she never directly stops them from succeeding in their adventures. She always keeps her promise to bring them back home.
Meet The Triplets and The Bored Witch
Here are the main characters you'll meet in the series:
Teresa (Tessa)
Teresa is the triplet who wears a pink ribbon. She loves adventure and is always coming up with the most exciting ideas. She's very brave and ready for anything!
Anna (Annie)
Anna is the triplet with the blue ribbon. She's usually calm and more peaceful than her sisters. Anna is also very curious and loves to learn new things. Sometimes, she can be a bit of a dreamer!
Helena (Nellie)
Helena is the triplet who wears a green ribbon. She is the sweetest of the three sisters. Helena absolutely loves food and sweets, which can sometimes get her into funny trouble!
The Bored Witch
The Bored Witch is a witch who is always, well, bored! She has amazing magical powers. She acts like a babysitter for the triplets. When the girls are naughty, she uses her magic to send them into classic stories. Even though she's the one who sends them away, she's not evil. She often teams up with the bad guys in the stories, but she always brings the girls back home safely.
