Have you ever grabbed a bottle of water when you're thirsty? Bottled water is simply drinking water that comes in a sealed container. This water can come from different places, like wells, natural springs, or even be specially treated, like distilled water or mineral water. It's usually sold in plastic, but you might also find it in glass bottles, cartons, or aluminum cans.

Bottled water can be fizzy, which is called carbonated water, or it can be still, meaning it has no bubbles. You can find it in tiny bottles for one person, or in huge jugs called carboys that are used with water coolers. While bottled water is convenient, it's important to know that making and transporting it uses a lot more energy and resources than just drinking water from the tap. In fact, it can have a much bigger impact on the environment.
