The President's Cabinet
The President's Cabinet is made up of important leaders. These leaders manage different parts of the government. Most of them need the United States Senate to agree to their appointment. The Vice President is different because they are chosen by voters in an election.
The Cabinet members meet with the President in the Cabinet Room at the White House. This room is right next to the Oval Office.
In November 2024, President Trump announced a new group called the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). This group helps make the government run more smoothly. It is part of the President's Executive Office.

How Cabinet Members Are Approved
For most Cabinet roles, the President chooses a person, and then the United States Senate must approve them. This approval process involves special hearings where senators ask questions. After the hearings, the Senate votes. If enough senators vote "yes," the person is confirmed and can start their job.
