The WWE Raw guest star is a special role given to a famous person who appears on the wrestling show WWE Raw for one episode. This person could be a current or former WWE wrestler, a well-known celebrity, or a sports star. They act as a guest star for that show, sometimes even joining in on funny scenes backstage with the wrestlers.

This idea started on June 15, 2009. Donald Trump, who was pretending to own Raw at the time, introduced it. A week later, Vince McMahon, the real chairman of WWE, announced that this guest star idea would begin on June 29. The first guest star was Batista. For almost a year, Raw had a different guest star every week, except for one week in April 2010. By June 2010, WWE started having guest stars less often, only when they were really needed.

There's a difference between a "guest host" and a "guest star." A guest host used to have a lot of power, like a General Manager for the Raw brand. This meant they could make important decisions for the show. But on May 10, 2010, it was decided that future guest stars would not have this power. The role of "guest host" was changed to "guest star," and the General Manager position came back. However, the guest host role returned in November 2014 after a three-year break.

Since the WWE Raw guest star idea began, there have been 73 episodes featuring 92 different stars!
