List of burial places of presidents and vice presidents of the United States facts for kids

The burial places of presidents and vice presidents of the United States are found in 23 different states and in Washington, D.C.. Since the job of President started in 1789, 45 people have held this important role. Out of these, 40 have passed away. The state with the most burial sites for presidents is Virginia, with seven.
The role of Vice President of the United States also began in 1789. Since then, 50 people have served as Vice President, and 43 of them have died. New York has the most vice-presidential burial sites, with 10.
Fifteen people have served as both president and vice president. Of these, 14 have died, and their burial places are listed in both tables below. In total, 80 different people have held one or both of these high offices. Sixty-nine of them have passed away.
