The 83rd Golden Globe Awards was a special event that celebrated the best movies and TV shows from 2025. It was held on January 11, 2026, at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. The show was broadcast live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+. Nikki Glaser was the host for the second time in a row.
The nominees, which are the movies and shows chosen for awards, were announced on December 8, 2025. Actors Skye P. Marshall and Marlon Wayans shared the exciting news. This year, for the very first time, the Golden Globes also gave an award for the Best Podcast!
The movie One Battle After Another received the most nominations with 9. It was a big hit, getting nominations for five different actors. Other popular films included Sentimental Value with 8 nominations and Sinners with 7. In television, The White Lotus led with 6 nominations, and Adolescence followed with 5.
About the Awards Show
Nikki Glaser, a comedian, hosted the Golden Globe Awards again in 2026. This was her second time hosting.
For the first time ever, the Golden Globes added a new award category: Best Podcast. This award recognized podcasts that made a big impact over the past year. The nominees were chosen from a list of 25 popular podcasts. The Golden Globes organization was proud to be the first major awards show to celebrate this type of entertainment. The podcast Good Hang with Amy Poehler ultimately won this new award.
The nominations for all 28 awards were unveiled on December 8, 2025. Actors Skye P. Marshall and Marlon Wayans announced the nominees at a press conference. The main awards ceremony took place at the Beverly Hilton in California. It was shown live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+ on January 11, 2026.
Special Lifetime Achievement Awards
Before the main show, two special Lifetime Achievement Awards were given out. These awards celebrate people who have had amazing careers in film and television. The Cecil B. DeMille Award went to Helen Mirren. The Carol Burnett Award was given to Sarah Jessica Parker. These awards were presented during a special show called "Golden Eve" on January 8, 2026.
During the main ceremony, the award for Best Original Score was announced online instead of being shown live on TV. This decision caused some discussion among fans and artists.
