  • Williston Lake is the largest lake in British Columbia. It's actually a man-made lake, also called a reservoir. It was created in 1968 when the W. A. C. Bennett Dam was built on the Peace River.
  • Nechako Reservoir is another large reservoir in BC. It was created in the 1950s to provide hydroelectric power.
  • Atlin Lake is a natural lake that stretches across the border into Yukon. It's known for its beautiful, clear waters and surrounding mountains.
  • Babine Lake is the longest natural lake in British Columbia. It's famous for its sockeye salmon runs, which are very important for local wildlife and fishing.
  • Kootenay Lake is a long, narrow lake in southeastern BC. It's surrounded by mountains and is a popular spot for recreation.
