Andrew Carnegie was a very rich businessman who believed in helping people learn and grow. He spent a lot of his money building libraries all over the world! These libraries are called Carnegie libraries.
In California, Andrew Carnegie helped build 142 public libraries. He gave money for these libraries between 1899 and 1917. He also helped build two libraries at colleges. This list tells you about these special buildings in California.
