• Central Texas Museum of Automotive History, Rosanky: This museum closed in 2012. Its collections moved to Dick's Classic Garage in San Marcos.
• Goodwill Computer Museum, Austin: This museum closed in 2015.
• Hertzberg Circus Collection and Museum, San Antonio: Closed in 2001. Its collections are now at the Witte Museum.
• Museo Alameda, San Antonio: Closed in 2012. The space is now used by Texas A&M San Antonio for educational and cultural arts.
• Museum of Aerospace Medicine, San Antonio: Closed in 2011.
• Texas Pioneers, Trail Drivers, Rangers Memorial Museum, San Antonio: Its collections moved to the Texas Ranger Museum at the Buckhorn Saloon & Museum.
