England has many amazing football stadiums! This list shows the biggest ones, ranked from the largest to the smallest. It's hard to list every single football pitch, so this list focuses on stadiums that meet certain rules:
- They are used for football and can hold more than 5,000 people.
- They are used by one of the 92 teams in England's top four football leagues (Premier League, EFL Championship, EFL League One, and EFL League Two) during the 2022–23 season.
- They are used by one of the 12 teams in England's top women's football league, the Women's Super League, during the 2022–23 season.

Stadiums from the Past
After some crowd safety issues in the 1980s, and new rules from the Taylor Report, many English league stadiums have been built or completely updated. Before 1988, the last new Football League ground built in England was Roots Hall in Southend, which opened in 1955.

Everton Stadium | c. 52,888 | Everton | Everton is building a brand new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock in Vauxhall, Liverpool. It's expected to cost over £300 million. |
King Power Stadium | c. 40,000 | Leicester City | In September 2022, plans to make the King Power Stadium bigger were approved. This will happen if the club gets the money needed. |
City Ground (redevelopment) | c. 38,000 | Nottingham Forest | Nottingham Forest has plans to update their stadium. They will replace the Peter Taylor Stand with a new 10,000-seat stand. This will make the City Ground the biggest stadium in the East Midlands, holding 38,000 people. |
Power Court Stadium Project | c. 23,000 | Luton Town | Luton Town is planning a new stadium in the town centre. Plans for a 23,000-seat stadium were approved in 2021. |
Kidlington Triangle | c. 16,000 | Oxford United | Oxford United is planning a new stadium in Kidlington. Their current stadium lease ends in 2026, so they hope to finish the new one by the 2025–26 season. |
Eco Park | c. 5,000 | Forest Green Rovers | Forest Green Rovers is planning a new stadium that will be the world's first timber stadium. The plans were approved in December 2019. |
