New England is a cool region in the northeastern part of the United States. It includes six states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. This page lists the biggest cities and towns in New England that had more than 25,000 people living there in 2020.

Massachusetts has the most cities and towns on this list, with 80! Vermont has the fewest, with only one. Did you know that the state capitals of Vermont (Montpelier) and Maine (Augusta) aren't even in the top 150 biggest places? That's pretty interesting!

Here's what each column means:

  • Rank: This is the city's position from largest to smallest population in 2020.
  • Name: The name of the city or town.
  • State: The state where the city is located.
  • Population (2020): How many people lived there on April 1, 2020, according to the official U.S. Census.
  • Population (2010): How many people lived there on April 1, 2010.
  • Change: How much the population changed between 2010 and 2020.
