How Boomerang Organized Its Shows

From 2006 to 2008, Boomerang had different sections of shows called "programming blocks." These blocks were made for different age groups. There were blocks for younger kids, teenagers, and even classic cartoons at night. The channel's logo would change color to show which block was on!

After June 2008, Boomerang decided to focus mostly on shows for teenagers. They stopped showing programs for very young kids and the old classic cartoons. From February 2009 onwards, the channel only used its blue-green logo.

  • Boombox: This was a music block that started in late 2007. It played music videos, live concerts, and documentaries about famous artists. Some of the artists featured included Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Paramore. This block was removed in April 2014.
  • Mini TV ("Tiny TV"): This block was for very young children, usually from 2 to 6 years old. It aired every morning. When Mini TV was on, the Boomerang logo turned yellow. This block was removed in early 2008.
  • Luces, Cámara, Boomerang ("Lights, Camera, Boomerang"): This block showed different movies, often ones that teenagers would enjoy. This was one of the oldest blocks on the channel. The logo kept its normal colors during this time. It was removed in April 2014.
  • Regular programming: This was the main set of shows on Boomerang. It mostly aired during the day. The logo would turn red or sometimes a clear white color. After 2008, these regular shows focused more on dramas for teenagers.
  • Live Action: This block was specifically for teen-focused live-action series, reality shows, and music videos. It aired in the late afternoon and early evening. The logo for this block was blue and green.
  • Película Boomerang ("Boomerang Movie"): This block showed movies during the day on weekdays. The logo turned completely blue for this block.
  • Matinee del Domingo ("Sunday Matinee"): This was a special movie shown every Sunday morning. The logo for this block was red and orange.
  • Boomerang Clásico ("Classic Boomerang"): This block played classic cartoons and shows every night and into the early morning. The logo turned completely green for this block. It was removed in early 2008.
  • Boomeraction: This was one of the very first blocks on Boomerang. It focused on action and adventure shows. Some of the shows included Thundarr the Barbarian, SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron, and Jonny Quest. This block was removed by April 3, 2006.
